	To prevent overpressure and protect your pipes Installation of a safety valve, will discharge the maximum flow possible when the fluid pressure is greater than the valve’s pressure setting and pressure relief valves. These protect both the installation and the dosing pump from overpressures. A safety valve is strongly advisable when plunger or mechanically actuated diaphragm pumps are being used. All of our dosing pumps with hydraulically actuated diaphragm are fitted with internal safety valves designed to protect the pump.
	To prevent loss of priming The foot valve acts as a non-return valve. It also facilitates pump priming when it is in suction.
	To prevent siphoning The back pressure valve creates artificial counter-pressure in the discharge line.
	To combat excess flow Installation of an injection nozzle and a back pressure valve. The pump will thus be isolated from the pressurised circuit, preventing pressure returns.
	To rectify water hammer Use of a pulsation dampener. This smoothes flow and reduces the pressure peaks generated by a dosing pump.

To prevent cavitation The pulsation dampener reduces the inertia effects in the discharge line. If there is a significant length of pipe between the pump and the storage tank, the installation of a surge shaft is recommended. To inject a product into a pipe and prevent the injected product from returning into the discharge pipe An injection nozzle is recommended. This will result in more accurate injection. To Tailor dosing pumps accurately to your operating conditions  

	A pressure gauge is required to show the operating pressure; combined with a pulsation dampener, it increases pump reliability. For double diaphragm pumps, the pressure gauge will also show when a diaphragm has failed.
	A calibration pot calibrates your dosing pump accurately in accordance with your actual operating conditions.
