High Containment Project – C22 Pro-extraction ChargePoint Split Butterfly Valves
We recently delivered on Phase 2 of a High Containment project that we were working on for an existing Pharma client in Ireland. The project originally commenced in 2020 with Phase 1 being successfully delivered in March 2021.
In total, over this 2-year timeframe, we delivered 12 units, 6 for each phase.
The space constraints that were in place made this project more complex. It was a challenge to ensure that all the equipment was modeled and fabricated to fit as there was no margin for error.
The main element of this solution was the C22 Pro-extraction ChargePoint Split butterfly valves (High containment solids charging valves) – see image below.
Specification included:
- These Pro Split Butterfly Valves have integrated extraction for the removal of trapped solids post charging
- The valves sit on 10 Bar PED seamless Alloy 22 angled spools modeled to fit in very limited reactor head space offering <1µ g/m3 High Containment to allow solids transfer
- Each unit was successfully Riboflavin tested offsite (see images)
- Each installation had full sensor feedback with ATEX-zoned control panels
CPi Technology was responsible for the design & detail engineering, including the integration of spool, split butterfly valves, and control panel. The scope also Included Riboflavin Testing offsite which was successfully completed before delivering on-site to our client.
